Drupal

Drupal is a community driven open source software platform that provides an ideal platform for deploying solutions to sophisticated content driven websites. CivicActions uses Drupal to bring clients the best value in terms of power, flexibilty and ease of use.

Drupal Framework

Drupal provides an extensible, community support framework which offers stability, a large resource pool, and long term development and support.

Drupal is one of the largest and most successful open source content management systems and its wide adoption among progressive and activist organizations increases its attractiveness.
Currently, a foundation is being created to provide Drupal with organizational backing, legitimacy, and financial support. This is consistent with other large scale open source projects (for example Debian Linux and Apache), and is a positive step forward for the Drupal community to have institutional support.

CiviCRM

CiviCRM is a powerful contact, fundraising and eCRM system that allows you to record and manage information about your various constituents including volunteers, activists, donors, employees, clients, vendors, etc. Track and execute donations, transactions, conversations, events or any type of correspondence with each constituent and store it all in one, easily accessible and manageable source.

Custom CiviCRM Implementations

CiviCRM contains an impressive set of functionality out of the box as an eCRM solution for non-profit constituent management; but it is also built on a first class framework developed by one of Yahoo's former chief architects. As one of the first and largest CiviCRM implementers, CivicActions harnesses this framework to provide custom implementation services, developing applications for everything from grant application and management to legislative tracking databases.

Reason why you might need a custom CiviCRM implementation:

  • Store complex custom data
  • Collect advanced demographic metrics on your constituency
  • Integrate with other CRM or groupware installations
  • Integrate with middleware, accounting and other 3rd party systems
  • Rapid application development

Our relationship with the core CiviCRM developers and management ensures that your custom installation will be supported at multiple support levels, and will remain compatible with the fastest growing CRM tool for non-profit organizations online.

AdvoKit

AdvoKit is free software for organizing and running grassroots campaigns. Using AdvoKit, you can combine the power of voter files, membership data and social networking to identify and communicate with supporters. Advokit is an online hub for a campaign’s voter registration, voterid, get-out-the-vote, door-to-door canvassing and phone bank operations. Groups can maintain every aspect of their constituency-building work in a central location that’s accessible and secure.

CivicActions has developed (and continues to enhance) a suite of free and open source voter contact management and e-canvass tools. The centerpiece of this suite is Advokit (http://www.advokit.net/). Advokit is a Voter ID/GOTV Web application available for free to any organization doing community organizing. Advokit provides the tools to get people out to vote. Voter ID/GOTV campaigns, when effectively organized, can easily produce a margin of victory for a contested election. The Web, with its ability to facilitate efficient collaboration among large numbers of people, enables, for the first time, volunteer recruitment and Voter ID/GOTV to be performed by thousands, or even tens of thousands of individual political supporters. Advokit combines management structures with tools for the best practices of traditional Voter ID/GOTV campaigning with the power of social networks and friend-to-friend outreach methodology to produce a campaign system with unprecedented political power, that costs almost nothing, and strengthens civil society - indeed, relies on it. Friend to friend outreach has been shown to be five to ten times more effective at identifying supporters, per contact, than targeted phone banking, and twice as effective as neighbor to neighbor outreach. The secret to AdvoKit is its ability to recruit, manage and effectively utilize large numbers of volunteers - all performing high-yield friend to friend outreach within their communities.
